In response to the ever increasing capacities of external hard drives laden with mp3s, Usagi exists as an independent label producing high quality limited edition releases designed and packaged to be anything but portable. As shameless music fetishists in most all of its recorded (and of course live) guises, we have no desire to limit ourselves to any particular genre or otherwise but simply want to produce records that have something to say, are not scared of crossing any lines and treat packaging as everything except the platform for a barcode.

News

The second part of the Andersen, Davis and Scanner Rabbit at the Airport project has been pressed and will be released on March 31st. The records are looking wonderful, even if we do say so ourselves, and perhaps more importantly, sound incredible. Once again they are on heavy vinyl and in gatefold sleeves with artwork by Jacob Ballinger.

After months of speculation, trips to the printer, more speculation (particularly on our part) and yet more trips to the printer the first part of the Martin Stig Andersen, Gareth Davis and Robin Rimbaud (aka Scanner) Rabbit at the Airport project has been released.

Jacob Ballinger, the artist behind the "Rabbit" visuals is preparing what will, we´re sure, be a rather beautiful book, that, along with his short film Rabbit at the Airport - the finish line will complete the Rabbit at the Airport project. This will be ready, quite possibly after a few more trips to the printer, in Autumn 2008.

Try as we might, we sometimes just run out of stamps and with the best will in the world can`t get press material to everywhere it should be.
